$1815 for an average annual EID "Water" bill?

$1815 for an average annual EID "Water" bill?...
Well if you are a West County EID rate payer and have a Sewer, $1815 is pretty typical of what you pay on an "ALL-IN" basis each year.

Here's the real picture... the one EID doesn't tell rate payers about:

ann bill comp

Chart footnotes
[1] "All-IN" annual cost paid to EID; includes $604 Water rates, $777 Sewer rates, $363 Property Taxes, and $71 surcharges
[2] .74 acre feet Water annually (2 times Rural Residential Water usage)
[3] 10.16 acre feet Water annually (27 times Rural Residential Water usage)
[4] 2.24 acre feet Water annually (6 times Rural Residential Water usage)
[5] 1.19 acre feet Water annually (3 times Rural Residential Water usage)
[6] .37 acre feet Water annually

EID's "ALL-IN" charges are a "far cry" higher than what EID's Press Releases, Workshops, and Charts in The Waterfront reveal to the public.

First of all, it's not just a "Water" bill.  For EID's West County ratepayers, the biggest cost is your Sewer bill, an average $777 annually. Next comes an average $604 for Water.  Then comes $161 from your Prop 13 Property Taxes to subsidize Water rates, and $202 to subsidize Sewer rates. Finally, add $71 of various surcharges for Water and Sewer.

Put all the "pieces" together and the $1815 average annual total bill is a whole lot more than just the $64 bi-monthly Water bill portrayed by EID's charts - Click Here

In
FixEID's Chart above, the "All-IN" data is not available for all Customer Classes... but Columns 2 thru 6 go on to compare average annual "rate-only" billings for various EID customer classes... from $1381 for West County medium usage residential customers... to medium usage Agriculture customers (who use 27 times more Water)... to Rural Residential "Water-only" customers (who, with far less outside irrigation, use half the water that West County residents use).

To summarize what FixEID's Chart is telling you…
The next time EID tells you about their "cheap" water rates, and how "economical" and "fair" they are to "all" ratepayers... tell them to tell the truth... the whole truth... and nothing but the truth!

Also, tell EID to stop spending so much money that causes these "sky-high" costs to its ratepayers!
